Not for them, but for us!

The world had drastically changed, perhaps, the change we desired is visible now! Many could have waited to witness this change in their lifespan. Unfortunately, they were not lucky as we are today. Technology ride and drive has taken place at a fast speed, leaving us to find solutions to unsolved problems of life. No doubt this has increased the standard of life globally. It has transformed lives of many. Advanced technology has turned the globe to a mini- sphere of LPG – Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization. Technology is all about changing ideas into something which is tangible.

Modern digital gadgets like Cell phones, I-pads, Laptops, are considered as a show of civilization. The Internet itself connects nearly 1 billion people of the world sharing their happy and sad moments of life. Without doubt, technology is now a state of the art commodity which contributes heavily to communication and raising educational standards. Technology has improvised the ways we used to use to meet and satisfy our expectations. However, our ancestors, had a life without these eases but still, they were far happier than us perhaps!
Online data bases, personalized web pages, chat rooms, and other mobile technologies could be the greatest technological revolutions for us, but not for them. Instant messaging, video conferencing and emails gave us, but not for them, a home away from home. Computerization, automation and robotics make our, but not their production more efficient. Technology caught the world by a storm and left us with a small global village, but for them, the world was huge.
Despite these benefits of technology for us which our ancestors had not experienced, technology for us, but not for them, has created many negative impacts on life. It has increased the digital divide more apparently between the first world and third world countries’ citizen. Though, e-wallet benefits first world countries to a huge extend but not the majority of population in developing nations can use the e-wallet service due to non-availability of technology. Furthermore, for us, it has left us with lack or real life and real friends and thereby increasing loneliness and cyber-sickness. Technology for us has become a firewall which is prohibiting us form real life social interactions.  For us, there is a great danger of technology absolutely substituting human resources. Virtual Reality Technology mania in the globe gives more focus to robotics and automation rather than to humanity.
Viber chat rooms, Facebook groups have become a corner stone of life for most of us. Our professional meetings, discussions, interviews and business talks happen in those virtual worlds at a higher frequency today.
However, one thing that technology could not change for them was their attitudes and personality, but for us technology has drastically molded our attitudes, personality and even our identity. Technology could not have a high impact on their hard working life and manual production, but for us it had changed. Technology for them, could not break their social interactions happening face to face, but now for us, it is the age of Viber coffee – virtual coffees.
Thus, do you think Technology was not for them, but for us only?
