The Education system of Maldives has been locked down with Covid19 pandemic and school children got an unfortunate break where most of them are trapped inside four walls of a small apartment if I referred the location as Capital City Male'. Though our policy makers had played a vital role in systematic planning still there had not been big achievements in this sector. However, Ministry of Education has used to telecast/ broadcast lessons visa state owed TV Channels.
E-teaching and learning became most essential element of our daily life now. Students are connected to a virtual class room to the teacher and teacher plays a huge role in facilitation. One of the challenge to achieve bigger success on this was high cost of internet followed by low speed of it. Despite their has been enormous negotiations everyday with in stakeholders, the progress is slow and doubtful.
If we glimpse into higher education private sector, the issue is worse. There has not been enough engagements with the private sector colleges with the government. to address unfolding issues in the sector. However, PHEAM as an institution collectively attempted on several times to raise and bring concerns to Minister of Higher Education directly.
We need visioned policy makers in the system to telescope the possible changes
