At least some ease to community to their psychological and
mental health have gained followed by news from HPA and relevant authorities, a
new normal will commence from 29th May 2020 onwards. However, the
new normal observes some restrictions as before. Indeed these restrictions are found
to be necessary until we get more favorable statistics of domestic pandemic
conditions and stories of success of world struggles to combat this deadly disease.
Like me, many have been forced to be inside homes for days, weeks and even for months bearing some pains of social distancing; not able to see and meet in person to share daily chores with loved ones, families and friends. This is a sacrifice worth valuing and remembering because it helped Maldives to control the spread and flatten the curve. Thankful to all obedient citizens of Her, being listened to instructions given by authorities meantime.
Covid19 throughout world has taught us many lessons of life. Importance of sharing resources, the need of sacrifice, adjusting lifestyle, giving more importance to health and well-being, readiness to a health crisis, resource management at policy level, unity of world nations, valuing health sector professional services more are among some of the lessons. New normal might take turns. It might cause initial struggles adjusting and adapting life styles. The more vulnerable masses for the disease like children and old age needs to be given specific importance. There might be shifting roles and responsibilities in community. Lesser working hours and more time with family could reduce economic productivity and money circulation in economy. Wearing masks, social distancing and sanitizing hands are routine new normal actions. New normal offers groceries, garages, carpentries and other private businesses a new normal way of doing business. Let us get a NORMAL after a new normal, In Sha Allah.
